URBAN LIBRARY

This library is designed as a complementary addition to the current Fort Worth library.

This design addresses surrounding issues such as the lack of public space and shade by providing a shaded courtyard. This addition also references the original library by having the new entrance directly adjacent to it..

The facade was designed based on its location in reference to the sun. The south side is comprised of sporadic windows where as the north east side is entirely glass. In addition the southern side is higher than the northern side, to flood the courtyard with morning light while simultaneously blocking the harsh afternoon rays.
